Friends, it’s been a big month on Mars. First, NASA scientists announced “the strongest evidence to date that water still flows occasionally” on the Red Planet’s surface. Just see the before and after shots above.
Then, the European Space Agency announced that its Mars Express orbiter has been using sounding radar to peer beneath the planet’s surface—a feat one expert likened to “having X-ray vision.” Meanwhile, Spirit and Opportunity, the Mars Exploration Rovers, keep trucking along after more than 1,000 Martian workdays. They were supposed to last 90!
In sum: times may be tough on Earth, but Mars is having a heyday. No wonder every space agency in the world wants to get there.
